Pearl River School Board Incumbents Run Unopposed

Petitions to run for Pearl River Board of Education were due 5 p.m. Monday. No challengers for the two board seats up for election this year were turned in.

Robert Davis and Michael T. Clohessy will run unopposed to keep their seats on the Pearl River Board of Education.

Petitions to run for those two seats were due 5 p.m. Monday, but none were submitted.

The Pearl River School District 2013-14 School Budget Vote and Board of Education Election is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Pearl River High School's Pirate Cove.

Davis, the current board president, has served since he was appointed to the school board in Dec. 2003, then voted in May 2004. The 40-year Pearl River resident and Pearl River High School graduate works as Pfizer's director of quality control laboratory operations in Pearl River.

Clohessy was first voted onto the board in May 2001. The Pearl River High School graduate retired in 2011 from tne New York Police Department, where he had been a detective in the Impersonation Investigation Unit.

There have been no changes to the five-member Pearl River School District Board of Education since Tom DePrisco was elected in 2008.
