Pearl River School District Seeks Volunteers for Transportation Committee

The Pearl River School District is looking for interested parties to serve on a committee to investigate potential changes in student transportation.

The Pearl River Board of Education announced plans to put together a committee to investigate potential changes in the transportation of students to and from school at its meeting Tuesday night.

"We are looking at altering the transportation limits as a cost-saving measure," said Pearl River Superintendent of Schools Dr. Frank Auriemma. "The board has decided that they would like to put together a committee to look at just that point, what we could do in terms of transportation."

The committee, which will begin work later this month, will include five teachers, five parents, Director of Operations Quinton Van Wynen, Supervisor of Transportation Shawn Frederick and a member to be determined by the board. Those interested in taking part in the committee should contact District Clerk Mary Flanagan at (845) 620-3922.
