Pearl River Schools Dismiss Early Monday

Pearl River High School and Pearl River Middle School will dismiss at 10:30 a.m. Monday due to the snow in the forecast for today. Pearl River's elementary schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. All grades at the St. Margaret School dismiss at 10:30 a.

The snow started falling early Monday in Rockland County, with local school districts responding by closing early.

Pearl River Schools sent out a notification shortly before 9 a.m. that the district's day will be ending early. Pearl River High School and Pearl River Middle School will dismiss at 10:30 a.m., with the district's three elementary schools dismissing at 11:30 a.m.

Students in all grades at the St. Margaret School in Pearl River will be dismissed at 10:30 a.m.

The National Weather Service is calling for a mix of snow, freezing and sleet from the morning through 3 p.m. with an accumulation of less than an inch of snow and "little or no ice."

As of 9:29 a.m., South Orangetown Schools and Clarkstown Schools had also announced early dismissals, with Nanuet and Nyack expected to make announcements as well.
