Pearl River Schools will open on time Friday, but they will also close early with the weather expected to worsen as the day goes on.
The National Weather Serivce issued a Winter Storm Warning that will remain in effect until 1 p.m. Saturday, with the worst of the snow expected late this afternoon and tonight. The forecast as of 6 a.m. this morning calls for 12 to 15 inches of snow accumulation before it ends Saturday.
All five Pearl River School District buildings will dismiss early, Pearl River High School and Pearl River Middle School at 10:15 a.m. and the three elementary schools at 11 a.m.
AFternoon Kindergarten and all after-school activities are cancelled, as is out-of-district transportation.
South Orangetown and Clarkstown Schools are also among those dismissing early Friday.
