Pearl River Schools Open Monday

Pearl River Schools will open for the first day of classes Monday.

Pearl River Superintendent Dr. John Morgano recently praised the work of district Director of Operations Quinton Van Wynen and Director of Facilities Robert Nelan to prepare the district for the first day.

"They did great work getting the buildings ready," Morgano said. "Everything will be as it always is (for the start of school). Up and running."

Among the work done over the summer was the addition of a walkway for drop-off at Pearl River Middle School.

"It will be a little safer dropping kids off," Morgano said.

The district also added wireless internet at the district's three elementary schools, in part because it will be necessary for future state testing. As with the wireless connection at the high school and middle school, access will be password protected at the elementary schools.
