Pearl River Schools To Address Schedule

The Pearl River School District Board of Education will address schedule changes brought about by Hurricane Sandy at Tuesday's meeting.

Hurricane Sandy's impact forced Pearl River Schools to close for an entire week, leaving the district to deal with five days of lost classses.

The board of education will discuss a plan for revising the schedule for hte rest of the 2012-13 school year at its meeting 7:30 p.m. tonight at the administration building on Crooked Hill Road. A copy of the revised schedule is attached to this report. The full agenda for tonight's meeting can be found on the school district website here

The district already made up one day by holding classes Nov. 6, which had been set aside as a Superintendent's Conference Day. Among the possible changes are Feb. 18 and 19 and May 23 and 24.

The school board will also hear Director of Operations Quinton Van Wynen's recommendations regarding zoning changes on the district property on Crooked Hill Road, primarly to aid in the process of converting the apartment building into condos.
