New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo designated the week of Oct. 28 School Board Recognition Week, but Pearl River honored its own school board at a meeting last week.
Representatives of the student councils at Pearl River's three elementary schools -- Evans Park, Franklin Ave. and Lincoln Ave. -- presented cards and framed pictures to the five members of the district's Board of Education -- Board President Jackie Curtiss, Vice President Thomas DePrisco, Bruce Bond, Robert Davis and Michael Clohess -- at the school board meeting last week.
