Pearl River Superintendent Addresses Issues Related to Connecticut Shooting

Pearl River Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Morgano sent out a letter to the community Saturday regarding the district's reaction to the shooting in Newtown, CT.

Pearl River School District Superintendent Dr. John Morgano sent out a letter to the community Saturday in reaction to the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. Friday.

The letter reads as follows:

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the families and others who lost loved ones in the horrific act at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

Our principals are aware that some children may need to ask questions about this tragic event and will be sensitive to that need. Our counselors will be available to speak to any child needing to do so. However, we recognize that parents are the best counselors for their children.

Each of our school buildings has a school safety plan that is reviewed periodically and will be reviewed again on Monday.

We take our responsibility to care for your children seriously. We realize that your children are the most precious part of your life.

Sincerely,

Dr. John C. Morgano
