Pearl River High School students took to the auditorium stage Friday for the first of two performances of the Woody Allen play Don't Drink the Water.
The cast and crew put on a strong production of the comedy on opening night. The second showing is set for 7 p.m. Saturday.
The play tells the story of an American family on vacation in a communist country taking refuge in the United States Embassy after being wrongfully accused of being spies in a communist country.
The play features a young cast. Peter Mills, who plays Walter Hollander, is the only senior.
Junior Giovanni Galvano plays failed diplomat Axel Magee. In a bit of a family twist, Axel's father, Ambassador Magee, is played by Galvano's younger brother Vincenzo, a ninth grader.
