Superintendent Search: Applicant Screening This Month

The Pearl River Board of Education's consultants have begun screening and interviewing candidates for the district's top administrator.

Superintendent John Morgano announced his retirement plans in January.

In a letter to the community, board President Jackie Curtiss said the position will be advertised until April 28.

The board hired Putnam-Northern Westchester BOCES as the search consultant. Working with the trustees, they will screen and interview applicants, verifying credentials and checking references, throughout April, according to the district's timeline.

In May, the interview process will get into full swing.

The trustees will interview semi-finalists. Then the BOE and a committee built from members of the district's stakeholder groups will have confidential interviews with finalists.

The board hopes to have a choice ratified by mid-June.
