The Pearl River School District announced three teachers would be retiring effective June 30 during the board of education meeting Tuesday at the district administration building on Crooked Hill Road.
Elementary school teacher Janet Fenton and speech teacher Catherine Lauro will be retiring after 24 years in the district. The third pending retiree, elementary school teacher Meredith Thompson, has been there for 21 yerars.
Fenton is teaching fourth grade at Franklin Ave. Elementary School this year. Lauro is listed as one of two speech/language instructors at Evans Park Elementary School.
