For the second consecutive year the Pirates defeated the Nanuet Golden Knights to keep the Little Brown Jug. The Pearl River girl’s soccer team lost a close game to Tappan Zee while teams from Albertus Magnus faltered.

Score: Pearl River won, 25-12
Highlights: In one of Rockland’s fiercest rivalries Pearl River beat Nanuet to keep the . Home field proved to play a big part in the game as the Pirates went ahead 15-0 in the first quarter and rode a strong defensive effort to victory. This is the second year Pearl River won the game. Nanuet had won the 13 years before that. Pearl River will try to finish the regular season undefeated 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at defending State Class C champion Bronxville.

Score: Pearl River Lost, 3-2
Highlights: Emma Burnett had 11 saves in goal, but it wasn’t enough to will the Pirates to victory on the road. Leah Miller and Emily Aristizabal picked up the two Pearl River goals.
Sport: Girl’s Soccer
Game: Nanuet @ Albertus Magnus
Score: Nanuet won, 2-1
Highlights: Nanuet won on the road thanks to Sarah Schucker and her two goals. Kerry Mulcahy had a goal off of a Kaitlyn McNamara assist for Albertus Magnus.

Game: Albertus Magnus @ Tappan Zee
Score: Tappan Zee won, 40-28
Highlights: Even though the Falcons were up, 14-13, at half the Tappan Zee run game proved to be too much for Albertus Magnus. Joe Litzia and Kevin Dingman led the way for Tappan Zee, each scoring three touchdowns.
