Saints doing swimmingly

Senior Kristen Lange of Pearl River achieved a milestone as the Siena College women’s swimming team blasted Sacred Heart, 121-78, in the Saints’ penultimate home meet of the season.

The Saints (9-3) were coming off nearly a month layoff, but showed no signs of rust.

The win held special significance for Lange and teammates Katie Carew and Emily Schultz. They have now won 34 career meets, tying the triumvirate with the class of 2011 as the two winningest classes in program history. The team is now one win shy of matching the program’s single-season win record of 10, with four meets left on the schedule.

Siena is off until the New Year, when the Saints go to MAAC rival Canisius on Jan. 14 for a tri-meet that also features Gannon University.
