Both the boy’s and girl’s cross country teams took part in the state championships in Vernon Verona Sherrill High School over the weekend. The boys game in eighth and the girls finished in fifth.
With fall team sports over for the Pirates and Falcons local fans and athletes can turn their attention to the winter teams. Most Pearl River and Albertus Magnus winter sports teams begin practices today. The Pirates' hockey team started last week.

Boy’s Score: Pearl River 150 (Eighth Place) Full Results
Boy’s Highlights: Kieran Brennan led the way for the boys as he came in with a time of 17:55. Stephan McNiff came in at 18:13.
Girl’s Score: Pearl River 122 (Fifth Place) Full Results
Girl’s Highlights: Kelly Hayes led the way for the Pirates in her sophomore season as she came in eighth place with a time of 20:30. Senior Ceili McMorrow also finished in the top 20 with a time of 20:55.
