Dominican Men's Basketball Off to Undefeated Start

The Dominican College men's basketball team enters Saturday's 3 p.m. home game against Holy Family at the Hennessey Center in Orangeburg with a 6-0 record, 4-0 in the CACC.

Junior forward Nick Smith of Middletown, NY averaged 8.8 points per game coming off the bench as a sophomore, but he has emerged as one of the top players in the conference this season, scoring 30.3 points and grabbing seven rebounds per contest. 

Another juinior, A.J. Burton of New Rochelle, gives the Chargers a potent inside combination with 11.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

Sophomore Joe Clinton of Pearl River, son of Dominican Head Coach Joe Clinton, has taken over as the Chargers point guard. He scores 6.5 points per game to go with 7.7 assists and 5.2 rebounds. 

The Dominican College women's team will also play at home against Holy Family Saturday. That game is a 1 p.m. start. The Chargers improved to 3-4 with a 61-54 victory over Pace Tuesday. 

Dominican's top scorer and rebounder, senior KC Jentzen, sat out Tuesday's contest with an ankle injury. The Nanuet High School graduate from Pearl River averages 18 points an 10.8 rebounds per game.
