You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance. 

Look for the kids' planner each Wednesday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips‚ just add them to the comments. We want to hear from you!

Orangetown Concert Series: Magical Mystery Band
When/Where: Friday, Aug. 10 at 7:45 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Orangeburg.
Why Go: Take in the final night of the Orangetown Concert Series with this free performance. Be sure to bring your own blankets and chairs.
Cost/Contact: Free/Orangetown Parks and Recreation.

Orangetown Junior Golf Tournament
When/Where: Tuesday, Aug. 14 at Blue Hill Golf Course.
Why Go: The 13th Annual Youth Golf Tournament will be held for boys and girls ages 12 to 17. The $20 fee includes lunch, the nine-hole tournament and prizes.
Cost/Contact: $20 entry fee/Find the application on the Orangetown Parks and Recreation page on the Town of Orangetown website.


When/Where:
Saturday, August 11, 10 a.m. / 53 Piermont Ave, Nyack
Why Go:
The kids may not be up to participating in the 10k kayak race, but head to the scenic mountain to cheer on your neighbors, check out the awards and promote charity

Saturday, August 11, all day / Bounce! Trampoline Sports, 612 Corporate Way, Valley Cottage
Why Go: Kids, and adults too, can try flips and twists in a safe environment. Think landing in a foam pit.

Arts & Craft Make & Take
When/Where:
from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug 15
Why Go:
AC Moore has free a Arts & Craft Make & Take activity. Stop by and participate in the Elmer’s Decorative Masking Tape Pencil Box. There are also 220 kids craft projects for only $1.

Arts & Craft Demo

from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11
Why Go:
AC Moore has free a Arts & Craft activity this Saturday. Stop by and learn about Cricut Noah’s ABC Animals Cartridge. There are also 220 kids craft projects for only $1.

Nanuet Library Friday Film Series

RENT
When/Where: Friday, August 10 and Saturday, August 11 at 8 pm, Sunday, August 12 at 2 p.m./Clarkstown High School South, 31 Demarest Mill Rd, West Nyack
Why Go: The Hudson Valley Teen Summer Theater is presenting RENT, the school version.

Yoga Scholarship Fundraising
When/Where: Saturday, August 11 at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m./Sanctuary Yoga Studios, 132 Park Avenue, New City
Who Go: Sanctuary Yoga Studios is hosting a Yoga Class Fundraiser for our teacher training programs. Young Mountain at Sanctuary Yoga Studios will provide scholarships for parents and schoolteachers to attend the Young Mountain Yoga Teacher Training Program. This program certifies parents and school teachers as yoga teachers for children and teens. The Fund Raiser offers two separate classes on a donation basis with 100% of all proceeds to go towards our scholarships.
11:00 am All Levels Adult Hatha Yoga Class with Janet Vignola
12:30 All Levels Family Class with Joelle Van Sickle & Gabriella Chinnock
All ages and levels are welcome to come in and meet the Young Mountain co-directors, Joelle Van sickle and Gabriela Chinnock, ask questions, contribute to the scholarship fund (no contribution is required), and take a free yoga class. Anyone may apply for a scholarship. No past experience in yoga is needed.
