Four Pearl River Athletes Earn State Track Trips

Kelly Hayes, Meghan Keetley, Amanda Moroney and Brian Cook all earned spots in the NY State Track and Field Championships with their performances Friday at the Section 1 State Qualifier.

Four Pearl River athletes ran their way into the state finals with their performances Friday in the Section 1 State Qualifier at the New Balance Armory in New York City. 

Kelly Hayes, Meghan Keetley, Amanda Moroney and Brian Cook will all compete in the New York State Indoor Track and Field Championships March 2 at Cornell University's Barton Hall.

Hayes set a school record with a time of 4:39.73 as she won the 1500 meter run. Moroney also broke a school recrod with her time of 8.63 seconds while taking third place iin the 55 meter hurdles.

Megan Keetley qualified by finishing second in the 1500 meter walk in 7:12.67.

Brian Cook will represent the Pearl River boys at states after finishing third in the 3200 meter run in a school record time of 9:20.
