Four Pearl River Track Athletes Head to States

Brian Cook, Kelly Hayes, Meghan Keetley and Amanda Moroney will compete in the NYSPHSAA state indoor track and field championships Saturday at Cornell University's Barton Hall.

Pearl River junior Brian Cook ran a school record 9:30 in the 3200 meter run at the Section 1 state qualifier last week, good enough for the fourth seed in the event at the NYSPHSAA state indoor track and field championships Saturday at Cornell University's Barton Hall.

Cook is the lone representative from the Pearl River boys team. Three runners made it for the girls -- Kelly Hayes, Meghan Keetley and Amanda Maroney.

Hayes won the 1500 meter run in 4:39.73, also a school record, and enters Saturday's race as the sixth seed. Keetley is also seeded sixth in her race, the 1500 meter walk, with a time of 7:12.67.

Moroney's qualifying time of 8.63 seconds puts her 15th in the seeding for the 55 meter hurdles.

Full seedings for the meet can be found here
