New City to Host Rockland Fireman’s Association Parade

New City Engine Company No. 1 is celebrating its 125th year of its dedication to providing continuous all-volunteer service to the residents of New City. In honor of their anniversary, the fire company will host the Rockland County Volunteer Fireman’s Association’s annual convention and parade on Saturday, Sept. 7 in New City.

All of Rockland County’s fire departments will be in attendance, including other guest departments, bands and more.

"Please come out and help us celebrate!" said New City Fire Chief Kenny Flynn.

The New City Fire Engine Company No. 1 is also teaming up with the Rockland Boulders for some good old fashion baseball for a good cause.

The Boulders will take on the Quebec Les Capitales on Friday, June 28 at 7 p.m. at Provident Bank Park in Pomona for a fundraising game that will benefit the fire company.

"Working with the Rockland Boulders has been great,” said Flynn. “They are really interested in getting involved in the local communities here in Rockland.”

Tickets are $15 each for infield box seats, which can be purchased at http://tinyurl.com/ncfd9boulders. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of tickets through this link will benefit the fire department.

“It's a great park, tickets are cheap, and you can have a really great family-friendly time only a short distance from home, while also helping support a good cause,” said Flynn.
