Pearl River 10s Hold On For State Victory

Pearl River's 10-year-old all-stars held off a late rally to defeat Burnt Hills, 5-4, in a New York State tournament Saturday.

Pearl River's 10-year-old baseball all-stars jumped out to a five-run lead and held on for a 5-4 victory over Burnt Hills in a New York State playoff game Saturday in Glennville, NY.

Jack McKee and Denis Fleming contributed RBI h its and Kyle Muldoon  hit a sacrifice fly for Pearl River. Kieran Creighton opened the game by pitching three scoreless innings for the victory. Jack Bellew came on with the bases loaded and none out in the bottom of the sixth inning, but allowed only one run to score before closing Burnt Hills out for the save.

Pearl River will play 5:30 p.m. Sunday against South Shore or Fedonia in the state final four.
