Pearl River Adances to Junior Softball Regional Semis

Pearl River faces host Connecticut District 4 at 9 a.m. today.

Pearl River's Junior Softball team is two victories away from a trip to the Little League World Series.

Pearl River finished second in pool play with an 8-1 record, advancing to face host Connecticut District 4 (7-2) at 9 a.m. this morning in the Eastern Regional semifinals in West Haven, CT. Pearl River defeated Connecticut District 4 by a score of 5-0 in pool play Tuesday.

Undefeated Pennsylvania state champion West Point (9-0) will play New Jersey-Mendam (6-3) in the other semifinal, which will also be played at 9 a.m. The semifinal winners will play for the championship and the berth in the Little League World Series at 11:30 a.m. today.

West Point defeated Pearl River, 2-0, in pool play Aug. 5, Pearl River's only loss this post-season.

Pearl River held on to the No. 2 spot with victories over Massachusetts and Maine Wednesday.
