The Pearl River baseball team built a four-run lead early, then held on for a 6-5 victory at home against East Ramapo Friday.
John Doherty went 3-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and one run scored and Conor Madigan singled twice, walked and scored two runs for the Pirates (10-5). Pitcher Mike Vinci earned the victory for Pearl River. Only two of the five runs he gave up in 5 1/3 innings was earned.
Pearl River's next game is 11 a.m. Saturday against Pleaseantville at Pace University.
