Pearl River Beats Byram Hills In Baseball Opener

Pearl River won, 10-9, at Byram Hills Tuesday

Kevin Considine locked up the Pearl River baseball team's 10-9 season-opening victory at Byram Hills Tuesday by striking out the final batter of the game with the tying and winning runs on base in the bottom of the seventh.

The Pirates' three senior outfields provided much of the offence with John Doherty hitting a two-run home run, Rich Masley driving in two runs and Chris Beers drivign in three. Pat Gannon was 2-for-2 with the game-winning RBI.

Junior pitcher Mike Imbarrato got the victory.

Pearl River's next game is 4:15 p.m. Thursday at home against Suffern.
