Pearl River Beats Nanuet Behind Doherty's Complete Game

John Doherty gave up only one unearned run in a complete-game victory as Pearl River defeated Nanuet, 11-1, in a league baseball game Wednesday.

John Doherty struck out nine and gave up only one unearned run on three hits while throwing a complete game in Pearl River's 11-1 victory at home against Nanuet Wednesday.

Kevin Considine hit an inside-the-park home run and tripled, driving in three runs for the Pirates (2-2, 1-0) as they won their first league game. Outfielder Chris Beers went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI and Shane Ocasal was 4-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI. Dan Campbell also had two hits for the Pirates.

Nanuet's record fell to 1-3 overall, 0-1 in league play.
