Pearl River Boys, Girls Sweep League 4B Track & Field Championships

Pearl River won team titles in the League 4B Boys and Girls Track & Field Championships Friday night at Rockland Community College.

Pearl River boys and girls both finished with the highest team totals after combing the scores from all 15 competitions for the boys and 16 competitions for the girls. The Pearl River boys scored 146 points, followed by Tappan Zee (121), Nyack (62), Nanuet (55), Spring Valley (41) and Albertus Magnus (35).

Tappan Zee swept all three relays to keep the boys' team competition close. Nate Kotch ran with the 4 X 800 relay and won the 3,200-meter run for the Dutchmen. 

Pearl River teammates Kieran Brennan and Tom Bonaro took the first two spots respectively in the 300 run. Brennan also took home the 1000 run title and Bonaro finished first in the 600. Hans Leuders won the 55-meter hurdles and took second in both the long jump and triple jump for the Pirates. 

On the girls side, the Pearl River girls accumulated 203 points, followed by Nanuet (104), Spring Valley (76), Tappan Zee (39), Albertus Magnus (33) and Nyack (26).

Kelly Hayes won the 1,500 and 3,000 for Pearl River. Tappan Zee's Erin Jaskot won the 300 and 600 while Megan Young of Nanuet won the 1,000, finished second to Hayes in the 1,500 and helped the Golden Knights take the 4X800 Relay.
