Pearl River Boys Tennis Wins Opening Match

Pearl River defeated East Ramapo, 5-2, Friday.

Pearl River dominated the doubles matches and Sam Berry rallied to win first singles as the Pirates opened their boys tennis season with a 5-2 victory at home against East Ramapo Friday.

Berry dropped the first set, 6-3, but followed by taking the second and third, 6-2, 10-7, to win the match. Pearl River (1-0) swept all four doubles matches in straight sets.

Pearl River's next match is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday at home against Clarkstown South.

3rd Singles: Deone Gentle (ER) defeated Jack Mikuszewski (PR), 6-3, 6-1
1st Doubles: Bendan McIntyre/Jared Schlosser (PR) defeated Devan Patadia/Samer Busat (ER), 6-0, 6-4
2nd Doubles: Yash Bhagat/Dan Scortea (PR) defeated Isaih Williams/Bryan Mathews (ER), 6-3, 6-1
3rd Doubles: Garvin Lee/Kevin Parakkattu (PR) defeated Stephon Breton/JoPhillip Miane (ER), 6-1, 6-2
4th Doubles: Tim Fjermestad/Christo Varghese (PR) defeated Chris Montoya/Hugh Goley (ER), 6-3, 6-4
