Pearl River Field Hockey to Open Playoffs at Home Friday

The Pearl River field hockey team won the first league championship in the programs history this season, completing the regular season with a 13-game unbeaten streak that left the Pirates with a 10-2-4 record.

That earned the Pirates the No. 4 seed in the Section 1 Class B playoffs. Pearl River will open at home Friday against #13 seed Putnam Valley at a game time to be determined.

Elsewhere in the Section 1 Class B playoffs, two of Pearl River's league rivals will face off in the first round when No. 11 Nanuet plays at No. 6 Nyack 3 p.m. Friday.
