Pearl River Football Coach Requests Fan Support Sunday

The Pearl River football team will take the field at home 3 p.m. Sunday against Harrison with the score tied, 14-14, and 6:44 remaining in the second quarter.

That unique circumstance was created when the contest was suspended due to thunder and more approaching storms Thursday. For more on the game so far, see this report on Patch.

Pearl River Head Coach Jeff Michael sent out the following request to supporters of the program.

Hi Pirate Nation!

The Varsity Pirate players and coaching staff have a huge request from all you fans out there in Pirate Nation. Tonight's game against Harrison was suspended due to thunder and lightning. The game is scheduled to resume on Sunday afternoon at Pearl River High School at 3pm. We are currently deadlocked with Harrison, 14-14 with 6:44 to go in the 2nd quarter.

Harrison is the #1 in Section 1 Class A football and some have ranked #1 in the state. Grab a friend, bring a parent, talk to your neighbors and fill the stands with blue. We need hundreds and hundreds of fans in the stands, on the hills, by the fence, screaming, cheering, getting loud and bringing the noise in support of our players.

We know that you can do it. It was great to see so much blue in the bleachers but it was clear that there were far more Harrison fans than PR fans. It would be even better if we outnumbered them, out-cheered them, and outclassed them as our boys out-hustle and outplay them.

WE BELIEVE!!!!!

LET'S GO PIRATES!
See you Sunday-
Coach Mike
