Pearl River Football Wins 2 of 3 at Big Apple Shootout

The Pearl River football team won two of its three contests in the Big Apple Shootout 7-on-7 Saturday at White Plains High School.

Pearl River opened with a 26-5 victory over Saunders, a playoff team in Section 1 Class A in 2012. In their second game, the Pirates defeated DeWitt Clinton from the PSAL, 18-12, on a touchdown pass from Chris Van Houten to Kevin Considine in the final seconds. 

White Plains beat Pearl River, 23-18, in the third game. Though Pearl River tied DeWitt Clinton and White Plains in the pool with 2-1 records, it was White Plains and DeWitt Clinton that advanced on points. 

Archbishop Stepinac defeated White Plains in the championship game.
