Pearl River Girls, Hayes Take Manhattan Invite

Kelly Hayes finished first overall and Pearl River won the team title at the 40th Annual Manhattan College Cross Country Invitational Saturday.

Pearl River junior Kelly Hayes ran the 2.5-mile Van Cortland Park cross country course in the Bronx in 14:40.6, finishing first overall in the Class C race at the 40th Annual Manhattan College Cross Country Invitational. 

Hayes' time was the second-fastest ever for a female runner from Rockland County on the course and it helped Pearl River win the team championship with 82 points, three ahead of Cicero N. Syracuse, in the 35-team race.
