The Pearl River team of Molly Shine, Danielle Muchoe, Maria Kohlbrenner and Kelly Hayes finished fifth in the girls distance medley relay at the New Balance National Championships.

Pearl River's quartet of Molly Shine, Danielle Muchoe, Maria Kohlbrenner and Kelly Hayes earned their place as All-Americans Saturday.

The four Pirates finished fifth in the girls distance medley relay in a time of 12:01.43 at the National Scholastic Sports Foundation New Balance Outdoor Track & Field National Championsip at North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, NC.

The official time also improved the school record set earlier this season and is fifth-best in Rockland County history.

The distance medley relay is broken up into 1200, 400, 800 and 1600 meter legs.

The splits were as follows:

  • Shine ran the 1200 in 3:42.21
  • Muchoe ran the 400 in 60.71
  • Kohlbrenner ran the 800 in 2:20.14
  • Hayes ran the 1600 in 4:58.38

Shine, a senior, is headed to Boston College in the Fall. Kohlbrenner will attend Duke. Hayes and Muchoe are sophomores.

An issues conference will be a wast of time and money. So many ' issues ' have been pulled out ofRead More thin air. The people who organized against the plant will just keep saying the same thing. No amount of info will be enough, no answer will be accepted. The issues conference will be a circus of endless questions, ideas, and demands. Haverstraw bay reclassified as drinking water will better protect it, provide an endless supply of water and finally help end the stereotype of the Hudson being polluted Recommend
