Pearl River Girls Soccer Beats Nanuet

Pearl River defeated Nanuet, 3-1 at home Wednesday.

Three players scored goals for Pearl River in a 3-1 victory at home against Nanuet Wednesday.

Annie White scored first off a corner kick by Marissa Scognamiglio, giving the Pirates the lead only two minutes, 44 seconds into the contest.

Nanuet tied the game on Laura Marinello's goal off a penalty kick at the 28:12 mark in the first half. Amanda DeCourcey put Pearl River ahead to stay three minutes later, scoring off a rebound to give the Pirates a 2-1 edge.

Scognamiglio set up the only score of the second half with a crossing pass to Caitlin Noonan, who scored the goal from right in front. Nanuet goalkeeper Rebecca Richards made 17 saves. Lauren Gallagher had seven saves for Pearl River.

The Pirates' next game is 6 p.m. Friday against Nyack at McCalman Field in Nyack.
