Lea Miller set up two first-half goals for Pearl River, which held on for a 2-1 victory over Nyack Friday at the OMM Soccer Complex in Orangeburg.
At the 31:24 mark in the first half, Casey Walsh scored on a header from eight yards out off a long free kick by Miller to give the Pirates a 1-0 advantage. Just over three minutes later, Miller set up another goal on a header, this time with a throw-in to set up Annie Miller, who put the ball over Nyack goalie Jalin Cunningham.
Katie Fisher scored Nyack's lone goal off an assist by Charlotte Sperling with 6:54 remaining in the game. Pearl River goalkeeper Lauren Gallagher, who made 10 saves in the game, got a piece of the shot, but couldn't keep it out.
Nyack got no closer and Pearl River held on to improve its record to 11-1-2, 7-0 in league play. Pearl River's next game is at Nanuet 4 p.m. Monday, a game that was postponed Wednesday.
