Pearl River Girls Take Fourth in Federation Cross Country

Pearl River took fourth in the girls team competition at the 2011 New York State Federation Cross Country Championships Saturday at Bowdoin Park

Kelly Hayes turned in the top individual performance as Pearl River took fourth in the girls 2011 New York State Federation Cross Country Championships Saturday at Bowdoin Park.

Hayes finished 41st overall in 19:31.7. Ceili McMorrow (19:42.9), Maria Kohlbrenner (19:55.6) and Molly Shine (20:06.7) all finished in the top 80 for the Pirates.

Saratoga won the girls' team championship while Bronxville sophomore Mary Cain took the individual title by running the 5,000-meter course in 17:40.

Shaker won the boys championship, with Pearl River finishing 16th as a team. Seniors Joe Clinton (17:13.5) and Stephen McNiff (17:17.1) turned in top-100 finishes.
