Pearl River Hockey Beats Byram Hills in OT

Junior forward Max McGee scored his fourth goal of the game at the 3:52 mark in overtime to give Pearl River a 5-4 victory over Byram Hills Saturday at the Brewster Ice Arena.

McGee also got the lone assist on Pearl River's other goal, a second-period score by senior defenseman Gary Healy. Senior forward Pat Burns set up McGee's go-ahead goal early in the third period an the game-winner in overtime. Kevin Murphy and Owen McGee also had assists for the Pirates (5-1), who fired 42 shots on goal in the contest.

Freshman forward Rob Lunder scored twice for Byram Hills (2-4), including the goal that tied the game at 4-4 with 1:56 remaining in regulation. Joe Brigante and Alexander Mykytiuk also scored goals for the Bobcats, who managed just 16 shots in the contest, none in overtime. 

Pearl River is off for a week, playing its next game 4:30 pm. Jan. 4 against Nyack/Tappan Zee at Sport-O-Rama.
