Pearl River Softball Overpowers Albertus on Senior Day

Pearl River wrapped up its regular season at home Thursday by pounding out 14 hits in a 12-0 victory at home against Albertus Magnus.

Mandy McCarthy tripled, singled and drove in four runs for the Pirates. Shortstop Sam Alicandri went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI, Caroline Kardashian was 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI and Erin Woods had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored. 

McCarthy and Kardashian combined to shut out the Falcons on two hits and two walks. McCarthy started, but Kardashian pitched the final 5 2/3 innings, striking out five. 

Pearl River's lone senior, Amanda Sullivan, singled and scored a run. 

The teams now await the Section 1 playoff seeding meeting May 22.
