Pearl River Sports: McKeon Honored

Pearl River grad Andrew McKeon, a senior at Wesleyan University, was earned district Academic All-American honors.

Pearl River High School graduate Andrew McKeon (Class of '09), a senior defensive end at Wesleyan University Cardinals in Middletown, CT, earned All-District 2 NCAA Division III Academic All-American honors. 

The three-year starter was second in sacks (3.5) and total tackles for losses (6.5) senior at Wesleyan and has a 3.78 GPA while pursuing a dual major in Economics and Pre-Med. He had 28 total tackles the Cardinals, which won their first four games on the way to a 5-3 season. McKeon was a team captain this past fall, as he was twice at Pearl River. 

Winter Sports Begin This week

The Pearl River bowling team will be the first winter sports squad to open its season Wednesday at Pearl River Lanes against Nanuet. 

The Pearl River Ice Hockey team will open its 2012-13 season 9:15 p.m. Friday against Horace Greeley at Sport-O-Rama in Monsey, the Pirates' home ice.

Pearl River went 13-7-1 last season, reaching the second round of the playoffs.
