Pearl River Sports:Baseball, Softball Win Big

The Pearl River baseball team won by a 10-run margin for the second day in a row Tuesday, pounding out 15 hits in a 12-2 victory at home against Scarsdale.

The Pirates had beaten East Ramapo, 10-0, the day before.

Rich Masley went 4-for-4 with a triple and three RBI, giving him six hits in two days. Pearl River improved to 8-3-1 on the season heading into Friday's Kayser-Bellow Memorial game against Tappan Zee at Veteran's Memorial Park. The game is usually played at night, but Friday will be a 4:30 p.m. start because there is an SAT test early Saturday morning.

• Softball: -- Junior pitcher Mandy McCarthy homered once and doubled twice, driving in eight runs. She also struck out five batters while throwing a one-hit shutout. 
• Boys Lacrosse: -- Peter Moreau scored two goals and assisted on one for the Pirates in the loss. 
• Girls Lacrosse: -- Caitlyn Noonan scored four goals and Delia White made 11 saves in the loss.
