Pearl River Sports: Basketball Teams Split, Hockey Keeps Rolling

The Pearl River girls basketball and ice hockey teams won Monday night. The boys basketball team lost at Harrison.

The Pearl River girls basketball team continued to do its best work on the road Monday with a 44-32 victory at Suffern. The Pirates are now 5-0 on the road an 0-3 at home. 

Emma Daly led Pearl River with 19 points, right near her average of 19.3 per game.

  • Ice hockey: Pearl River 5, North Rockland 3 -- Pearl River trailed after one period, but responded with four unanswered goals in Monday's victory over North Rockland at Sport-O-Rama in Monsey. Patrick Burns scored two goals and linemate Kevin Murphy contributed a goal and two assists for the Pirates, who won their fifth game in row to improve their record to 10-1.   • Boys basketball: Harrison 58, Pearl River 47 -- The Pirates struggled offensively most of the game, trailing 42-25 after three quarters. Four players scored in double figures for the Huskies. Jack Byrnes led Pearl River with 17. Thomas Armour had 13 and Kevin Degnan scored 10. Read more here
