Pearl River Sports: Cross Country Teams Slog to Victory

Pearl River's boys and girls cross country teams both defeated Nanuet and Clarkstown North on a wet course at Pearl River Middle School Tuesday.

The Pearl River cross country teams refused to let the rain slow them down Tuesday.

Both teams defeated Nanuet and Clarkstown South in a three-team meet Tuesday at Pearl River Middle School.

In the girls meet, . Pearl River Head Coach Dan Doherty said his team did better than expected. 

The Pearl River boys took the first three individual spots on the way to relatively comfortable victories over Nanuet and Clarkstown South. Brian Cook finished first overall in 17:00, followed closely by teammates Brian Edsall (17:01) and Ben McDermott (17:02).

Cross country were the only Pearl River teams to compete Wednesday.

Wednesday's Schedule

  • Pearl River field hockey at Suffern, 4 p.m.
  • Pearl River girls soccer at home against Nanuet, 4 p.m.
  • Pearl River girls tennis at Tappan Zee, 4 p.m.
