Pearl River Sports: Daly Developing for Girls Basketball

The Pearl River girls basketball team suffered its first loss of the season Wednesday in its home opener against Clarkstown South, 66-59

Both teams entered the contest with unblemished records. South improved to 6-0 and Pearl River dropped to 4-1.

Junior forward Emma Daly continued the strong start to her season, scoring 31 points against the Vikings to raise her points per game average to 18.2. She leads the Pirates in scoring and rebounding this season.

Wednesday's game also featured game programs with varsity and junior varsity rosters for both teams, an update on the season to that point and a mention of the Pirates' next game. New Head Coach Dan Lauture had said in preseason that he hoped to have one for each home game.

Pearl River will be at home again for its next contest, noon Monday, Dec. 23 against North Rockland.
