Pearl River Sports: Rockland Track at RCC; Gaine to the Jets?

At least one report lists Pearl River native Brian Gaine as a candidate to be the general manager for the New York Jets. Pearl River's track teams will be back at RCC for the Rockland County Invitational today.

The New York Jets fired general manager Mike Tannenbaum Monday, sparking speculation regarding his potential replacement.

Rich Cimini, who covers the Jets for ESPN, included Pearl River native Brian Gaine among the candidates for the job. The list was based primarly on speculation, but Gaine has been rumored for such jobs before. He spoke with the St. Louis Rams during their search for a general manager a year ago.

Gaine is currently the assistant GM for the Miami Dolphins and he once worked as a scout for the Jets. Before that, he was also on the Jets practice squad as a player.
