The Pearl River ice hockey team improved to 7-1 with a pair of lopsided victories this weekend at Sport-O-Rama in Monsey

Kevin Murphy scored a hat trick and added in two assists in Pearl River's 8-2 victory over Nyack/Tappan Zee Saturday. Max McGee and Tommy Murphy each had two goals and one assist. The Pirates fired 48 shots on goal.

The Pirates got goals from six players in Sunday's 6-1 victory over Monroe-Woodbury. Connor McMorrow scored one goal and set up three more. Tommy Murphy, Kevin Murphy and Pat Burns each had a goal and an assist and McGee had three assists for the Pirates.

McGee, a junior forward, leads the Pirates with 14 goals and his 23 total points are tied for the team lead with linemate Murphy, also a junior forward. Murphy has 13 goals and a team-best 10 assists. Sunday's goal was the first of the season for McMorrow, a defenseman, but he now has six assists.
