Both Pearl River lacrosse teams won preliminary round Section 1 Class C playoff games Wednesday.
The No. 19 Pearl River girls won, 14-10, at No. 14 Ardsley, earning the opportunity to play 4:30 p.m. today at No. 3 Irvington. Lindsey Stephens scored three goals and Courtney Ocasal had two goals and two assists for the Pirates.
The Pearl River boys won at home, 17-5, against No. 18 seed Dobbs Ferry. Joe Mayernik scored three goals and assisted on three in the victory. The No. 15 Pirates will play at No. 2 Pleasantville 4:30 p.m. today.
Rockland County Golf Championships
Pearl River finished second in the team standings at the Rockland County Golf Championship Wednesday at Rotella Golf Course with a total score of 437. Tappan Zee was first with 412.
Pearl River senior Kevin Deegan shot a 78 to finish third overall. The Pirates other scores were Dyan Faller 86, Glenn Watson 90, Gary Healy 91, Conor Campbell 92 and Ciaran Hennessy 94.
