Pearl River's boys and girls cross country teams both won league and Section 1 Class B championships last season.
They will try to defend their league championships today at Bear Mountain, with the boys race at 4 p.m. and the girls at 4:45 p.m.
Both teams went 4-0 in league competition, but each had one close meet.

The Pearl River boys' closest meet in league competition was a 26-30 victory over Tappan Zee Oct. 9.
Monday's Results
- Casey Walsh scored two goals and assisted on two more to lead the Pearl River girls soccer team to a 4-2 victory at home against Tappan Zee.
- Maggie Davin and Courtney Ocasal each put in two goals to lead Pearl River to a 4-3 field hockey victory at North Rockland. The Pirates improved to 4-7-3 with the victory.
