Pearl River Sports: League Cross Country Championships Today

The Pearl River boys and girls cross country teams will compete in the league championship meet 4 p.m. today at Bear Mountain.

The Pearl River boys won their league a year ago, but lost to Tappan Zee in the Rockland County and Section 1 championships. The teams will compete again today. The Pirates won a dual meet against the Dutchmen earlier this season.

On the girls side, Nanuet ended Pearl River's streak of league championships that dated back to 1979 last season, so the Pirates will be trying to reclaim the title.

Monday's Results

  • The Pearl River School District cancelled all after school activities due to inclement weather Monday, including varsity events for the girls tennis and volleyball teams.
