Rockland County Cross Country Championships
The Pearl River boys and girls cross country teams will compete in the Rockland County Championships 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Bear Mountain.
In the girls race, Suffern and League rivals Tappan Zee and Nanuet wil most likely provide Pearl River's biggest challenges. Kelly Hayes is a threat to win the individual championship for the Pirates, with Tappan Zee's Erin Jaskot among the top competition.
Pearl River's Brian Cook enters the meet off a strong showing at Saturday's Section 1 Coaches' Invitational, where he had the lowest time in any of the boys races and the Pirates topped the team merged scores.
