Pearl River Sports: Soccer Teams in Action

Both Pearl River soccer teams will play Monday, the boys at Lakeland and the girls at home against Rye.

The Pearl River soccer teams will both take the field against traditional powers Monday.

The girls team will play Rye, which won a section championship in 2010, at home at 11 a.m.

The Pearl River boys soccer team will play at 2 p.m. at Lakeland, facing a team that beat the Pirates twice in 2011, ending their season in with a 2-1 defeat in the Section 1 Class A quarterfinals last November.

Pearl River has played well of late, most recently jumping out to a 3-0 at home against Albertus Magnus before the rains came in Thursday's senior recognition day game. The contest will be completed Oct. 18.
