The Pearl River soccer teams will both take the field against traditional powers Monday.
The girls team will play Rye, which won a section championship in 2010, at home at 11 a.m.
The Pearl River boys soccer team will play at 2 p.m. at Lakeland, facing a team that beat the Pirates twice in 2011, ending their season in with a 2-1 defeat in the Section 1 Class A quarterfinals last November.
Pearl River has played well of late, most recently jumping out to a 3-0 at home against Albertus Magnus before the rains came in Thursday's senior recognition day game. The contest will be completed Oct. 18.
Weekend Results
- The Pearl River football team lost, 42-7, on the road against Harrison, the No. 2 team in the state. The Pirates play away from home again this week, 7 p.m. Oct. 13 at John Jay-Cross River, another Class A power.
- The Pearl River girls cross country team won the team title at the Fordham Prep Developmental meet Friday. Kelly Hayes finished first overall, running the 4,000 meter course in 15:28.81.
