Pearl River Sports: Soccer Teams Shut Out Opposition
The Pearl River boys and girls soccer teams both won by shutout Monday. Both teams will close out their regular seasons today.
The Pearl River boys and girls soccer teams did something in common Monday.
Both teams blanked their opponents to earn victories in the penultimate games of their regular seasons.
The Pearl River girls soccer team dominated play through most of Monday's game at Nanuet, but did not break through until the second half, when the Pirates scored all four goals in their 4-0 victory.

Four different Pirates scored, including senior Kristen Scrima putting a shot over the head of Nanuet's goalie for the first goal of her career. Pearl River completed league play with an 8-0 reacord and is 12-1-2 overall heading into Tuesday's home game 4:30 p.m. against Fox Lane.
The . Goalkeeper Austin Maggiolo made five saves in the shutout and Brian Chiarello set up Alex Castillo for the game's only goal.

Pearl River will close out the boys soccer regular season with a 4 p.m. Tuesday game at Albertus Magnus.
Pearl River Volleyball Falls to Nanuet
in the final regular-season game for the Pirates, who are now 7-8.

- Pearl River field hockey at Fox Lane, 4:30 p.m.
- Fox Lane girls soccer at Pearl River, 4:30 p.m.
Section 1 Playoff Seedings
Section 1 will be holding playoff pairing meetings this week for boys soccer, girls soccer, field hockey and volleyball. The playoffs will begin later in the week.
The schedule by sport is as follows:
- Field hockey -- Seeding meeting Wednesday, outbracket games Thursday and first round Friday
- Volleyball -- Seeding meeting Wednesday, outbracket games Thursday, first round Friday
- Boys soccer -- Seeding meeting Wednesday, outbracket games Thursday, first round Friday
- Girls soccer -- Seeding meeting Thursday, outbracket games Friday, first round Saturday
