Pearl River Sports: Swimmer McKallen to Sign with Loyola Monday

Pearl River High School senior swimmer Theresa McKallen will sign her college letter of intent with Division I Loyola University-Maryland Monday at the high school.

The Loyola-Maryland swimming and diving team competes in the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference. 

At the Section 1 championships in November, McKallen finished third in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:11.80 and fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.45. She also swam with Taylor Hodges, Megan Conway and Kaitlyn Lange on the 200 medley relay that finished sixth. 

At the NYSPSAA state swimming and diving finals at Ithaca College, she took 15th in the 200 IM in 2:11.63 and 23rd in the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.09.

Tuesday's Result

• Softball: -- Shortstop Sam Alicandri tripled, drove in two runs and scored one for the Pirates as they won their third game in a row.
